Origin of the name Gryptid
For years, my kids and I have been captivated by the world of cryptids—those legendary creatures that roam the fringes of belief and mystery. From Bigfoot lurking in the forests to the eerie whispers of the Wendigo and the elusive Chupacabra, we’ve always loved sharing stories about the unknown.
But there’s one name that has meant more to us than any cryptid ever could: “Grandpa Ralph”. He was my father, a source of wisdom, laughter, and love. Since his passing, we’ve held his memory close, always finding ways to honor the incredible man he was.
So when we set out to breathe new life into this RV Park, we knew it had to be something special, a place where mystery and adventure collide with cherished family memories. “Gryptid” is the perfect fusion of our passion for cryptids and our love for Grandpa Ralph, combining “cryptid” with “Grandpa Ralph” to create a name that holds deep meaning.
